Own Boat Tuition

Own Boat Tuition is a great way of familiarising yourself with the strengths and weaknesses of your vessel and an opportunity to learn at your own pace on a one-to-one basis. Some clients choose to do the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course with us then a further day of instruction on their own vessel to apply skills learned in a familiar setting.

Own Boat Tuition is tailored to you. After having a chat about what you would like to get out of the time spent with an instructor on your boat, you and the instructor will agree a plan for the day(s) of tuition.

During Own Boat Tuition we spend time giving advice on safety equipment that you should carry on board, electronic equipment such as GPS and VHF radio and also impartial advice on any other items that you may consider buying.

There is no certificate at the end of this course, however you can do the Powerboat Level 2 course on your own boat alongside Own Boat Tuition at an additional cost of £50pp. If there are 2 or more of you this requires 2 days, please phone the office to arrange a date to suit you.

Requirements

Should you wish to use your own boat as part of an RYA specific course, your vessel must comply with RYA standards which in itself will ensure that your safety equipment is of a good standard. Your boat must hold:
